Our Methodology

How we produce each analysis: data sources, frameworks, and evaluation process.

The Triple Framework

Each analysis passes through three complementary lenses before issuing a consolidated signal. This process ensures rigor, reproducibility, and transparency in every evaluation.

1

πŸ›οΈ Graham β€” Intrinsic Value & Margin of Safety

Calculates intrinsic value using Graham's classic formulas, evaluates the 7-criteria defensive scorecard, and classifies the asset as Investment or Speculation according to the standards of The Intelligent Investor.

2

🎩 Buffett β€” Durable Competitive Advantage

Evaluates the presence and durability of the economic moat, calculates owner earnings with a two-stage DCF, and applies an 8-12 criteria scorecard inspired by Berkshire Hathaway's annual letters.

3

πŸ“ˆ Sowell β€” Economic Analysis

Analyzes real pricing power, competitive market structure, regulatory or subsidy distortions, actor incentives, and systemic risk from the perspective of Basic Economics.

4

🎯 Consolidated Signal

Final synthesis that integrates all three frameworks into an actionable signal: BUY, HOLD, WATCHLIST, or AVOID, with explicit justification from each component.

Data Sources

Tier 0

Alpha Vantage MCP

Real-time financial data API. Primary programmatic source for prices, fundamentals, and up-to-date market metrics.

Tier 1

SEC EDGAR & Investor Relations

Official filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) directly from the SEC and each company's investor relations pages.

Tier 2

Financial Aggregators

stockanalysis.com, macrotrends.net, Yahoo Finance, and MarketBeat for consolidated historical data and consensus metrics.

Tier 3

Estimates and Inferences

Proprietary projections and analyst estimates. Always explicitly marked as [INFERRED] for full transparency.

Resolution Rules

Conflict Hierarchy

When sources contradict each other, we apply these resolution rules:

  • SEC filings always win β€” they are the definitive legal source.
  • Investor Relations overrides aggregators β€” direct data from the company.
  • Aggregators are used for speed and historical context, not as absolute truth.
  • Analyst estimates are informed opinions, never facts β€” they are treated as such.
